Limited Hangout is a new, bimonthly event series for long form performances that are denied funding and spaces in contemporary Berlin. The works we will present are overtly political and dangerous, not hiding behind abstractions and academic jargon. We will find resources wherever we can find them: spaces, equipment and labour to support the staging of these works.

We aim not for perfection, but to try to short circuit the long, debilitating arc from when a work is conceived to when it is actually performed. This process is regularly gummed up by funding applications and arts bureaucracies, leading to works that fail to respond to the conditions that they are performed in, only hollow echoes of an impulse that an artist had two or more years earlier.
